Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Spring Bank Plc, Mrs. Sola Ayodele is winner of the ‘Elegance and Style Awards 2010.’ The award is organised by National Encomium Magazine . She was adjudged best among four other respected women nominated in the ‘Most Elegant Woman (Corporate Nigeria),’ category. The theme of this year’s ball is ‘Elegance is ennobling.’
Those nominated alongside Ayodele for the prestigious award, which is presented to women with dress sense that is considered ‘prim and proper; whose attires are never askance or inappropriate at work,’ include Mrs. Elizabeth Ebi, a frontline stockbroker, Mrs. Funke Osibodu, Group Managing Director, Union Bank Plc, Mrs. Maiden Ibru, Managing Director, The Guardian newspapers and Ms. Mo Abudu, a celebrated television personality.
Receiving the award on behalf of the Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, from the duo of Kenny Ogungbe and Dayo Adeneye, both directors of Kennis Music, Yvonne Popoola, Spring Bank’s Head, Private Banking and Wealth Management, commended the Management and Staff of Encomium Magazine for putting up an event of that magnitude and thanked them for the honour done to the Spring Bank boss whom she said would have loved to personally be at the event to receive the award. Ayodele was away on official assignment.
This year’s edition of Elegant and Style Awards, which held at The Darlington Hall, Industrial Crescent, Ilupeju, Lagos, is a major segment of the annual Black and White Ball, a high-class event that attracts major players from different sectors of the economy. Aside from the awards, the event also featured loads of entertainment as well as fashion exhibition from some of Nigeria’s best fashion designers.
The event, which offered rollicking time to guests started with a black carpet welcome reception, where guests had the opportunity of networking under the flashlights from a barrage of media cameras. It started at 5 pm with music performances, fashion show, different segment of award presentation, dinner and dance.
